Module one of Master Basic Danish as lessons tailored for groups

Master Basic Danish group lessons<br />
Module one is 10 lessons
of online Danish in a group

First time you participate in Master Basic Danish in a group the focus is on ‘getting into Danish‘ and a good study habit.
Groups with up to 8 participants begin in September and January.

As a common reference we look into specific pages in the book: På vej til dansk – trin for trin and add some of your and the other participants wants and needs.

Learning in a group, also, give you the possibility to continue learning Danish with the other participants either on you own or by choosing yet another module of Master Basic Danish with me as your Danish tutor.

På vej til dansk - trin for trin

When you choose Master Basic Danish in a group in your first module the focus is on building foundation or assuring that your learn-Danish-foundation is good.

You will be urged to focus on learning Danish at least 8 minutes a day, to take notes AND to use the Danish, you already know.

By focusing (a little) on learning (some) Danish each day you will be reaping the (Danish) fruits in terms of being able to interact with

Master basic Danish
  • your Danish spouse and her or his family
  • your children
  • your colleagues
  • your neighbors
  • Danish authorities, teachers, staff etc.

Let me help you reach the level, where you can express yourself in the way you want to.

Being able to use (simple) common phrases can be a gateway for what you want in many nuances. Being willing and able to speak plus understand (some) Danish gives you an important advantage, when you want to live, cope and succeed in Denmark.

Using the Danish you know can open doors and hearts.

Begin with the basic – and, continue your learn-Danish-journey by – becomming more and more confident while you increase your ability to speak Danish – and – pick up new words and phrases.

Choose as many modules of Master Basic Danish as you want or need.

Judit says:

I highly recommend Birgit Månestråle.

I study with her, and she is amazing.
She tailors the lessons for me, very enthusiastic, and there is no question unanswered.

Christian says:

I would like to thank you for being my Danish teacher over the last months. You really helped me to get a very good first insight not only into the Danish language but also into other aspects of the Danish life and habits – this really helped me a lot to settle here…. Thanks a lot for all your patience and guidance; maybe we will have a chance to meet again…

For now I wish you a great summer and all the best laughing

Mouna says:

My Dear Birgit,

Tak for everything you shared and you taught me!

I'm grateful and it was a pure pleasure being with you during those two sessions 🙂

Megan says:

“I like the applicability of your suggestions and the way you really are teaching Danish with ease!”

Megan Simpson, USA.

Sirli says:

You are by far the most positive language teacher, I’ve ever had, and I really enjoyed, that you always put extra effort into bringing interesting books and other kinds of materials to the lessons.
Everyone should have as much passion in their work as you do.

Wish you all the best,

Sirli, Estonia, after participating in a small Danish group-set-up  in Denmark.

G.P. says:

»Hej Birgit,

Jeg skriver til dig, fordi jeg har bestået PD3 prøven.
Jeg fik 10 både i læseforståelse og i den skriftlige del, og 7 i min mundtlige præsentation.
Tusind tak for hjælpen i de sidste måneder.
Det var rigtig godt at lære dansk med dig og at bruge lang tid med spændende samtaler om s-verber og andre emner.

G.P. fra Spanien, juni 2019.«

Content of your first module of Master Basic Danish

På vej til dansk - trin for trin
Birgit Månestråle

In Your first module of Master Basic Danish, we primarily focus on pages 5, 6, 8, 9, 21, 29, 30, 61, 103, 99 and page 100 in the book: På vej til dansk – trin for trin, and we focus on basic grammar, as for example how to know when a noun is a n-word or a t-word + how to conjugate verbs, nouns and adjectives
and
there will of course be room for questions and answers related to our focus on mastering numerals, ordinals, telling the time and introducing ourselves as well as getting into conversation by for example asking: “Hvad med dig?”.

Besides you “getting into Danish” you will have access to me, Birgit, via email, so you can get feedback on aspects of importance to you.

Are the Danish lessons structured?

Yes. It might, though, not be the way, that you perceive or have as a reference for structure.

When I – originally – was learning to read, I was first introduced to the letters. Thereafter I learned to put the letters together into words, whereafter I learned about grammar and word order, in order to make sentences.

As you have passed this basic level, we will work, as if we are on a main road, where we want to go from A to B, but where we’ll stop at all sights of our interest.

Skype or phone

So: Yes, your Danish lessons will have a structure and you will be challenged by leaving the structure/ the plan in every lesson, by fx getting questions not related to the subject, but relevant for the “here and now” where you and I have our learn-Danish-exchange.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience working with Birgit Månestråle. Her style is unique, flexible, creative, encouraging and above all FUN! Danish is considered a difficult language to learn but Birgit tailored each meeting with interesting and relevant content and I was always inspired by our discussions which were pitched at just the right level. Her commitment and enthusiasm was amazing – she was responsive between meetings reviewing written material and always ready with additional support and direction. Birgit enjoys teaching and she was always excited and happy to be there. My confidence with Danish improved immeasurably during the time we worked together. I absolutely recommend Birgit for learning Danish.

Man with book learning Danish with Ease

How much homework?

You decide. The more you are able to focus and study the faster you may reach your goal.
AND, that said (or actually written above) my approach is, that learning Danish should happen ‘with ease’.
Ease isn’t necessarily easy – but, when you manage to learn with ease, as if learning Danish is your passion, then your eagerness increases. It becomes fun to recognize Danish words and phrases. You smile. You get the feeling of victory: “Yes, I can do it.” “Yes I’m doing it.” Small progress, large progress. Any focus counts.
Some days you only sense a sound or a word. When getting into a good study habit, then 8 minutes a day some days easily becomes 9, 10 or maybe 20 minutes. When having excess time, focusing an hour or an hour and half will give you the good feeling of having accomplished what you wanted to accomplish.

Let’s meet online, when you are ready to learn Danish, at a time that suits both of us.
